RUSSIA: A new city TV channel will be launched in Moscow this Fall
The 24 hours news channel, created at the initiative of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, will promptly tell the Muscovites on city events, inform the viewers about traffic jams and weather in different parts of Moscow.
The necessity to create a new channel comes from the fact that the Moscow authorities are not satisfied with the level and ratings of the existing city's channels: The Capital (Stolitza) and Trust TV (Doverije). The head of the Moscow Department of Media and Advertising, Vladimir Chernikov, in his interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta said that the alternative TV channel will be presented for City Day, which this year will be celebrated on September 3, 2011.
