RUSSIA : Two Russian Telecom operators launch their own tablet PC
The Russian tablets market is booming. This week two of the most important telecom operators started sales of the new branded devices. First, the VimpelCom Group (Beeline brand) announced the launch of "Beeline M2" - a tablet PC, which offers users a convenient interface and access to a variety of Internet application via 2G, 3G or WiFi networks and operates with Android OS. At the same moment Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) started sales of its "MTS Tablet PC", which also operates with Android and based on "Huawei S7 Ideos" with branded applications of the operator.
As for VimpelCom, it wants to go further in its new niche market development and plans to release its own branded tablet PC which will be more powerful then "Beeline M2" and could be a good alternative to the mini notebooks. The new device will be operating under MS Windows 7 and will appear in the third quarter of 2011, reports RIA Novosti, referencing a company representative.
