RUSSIA: VGTRK launches "Russia HD"
VGTRK has decided to launch TV channel "Russia HD " (which will show the programs of "Channel Russia" in high definition) in late 2010 or early 2011.
The channel's format will be similar to "RTR-Planeta" and includes programs from "Russia 1," "Russia 2," "Culture," "Bibigon," "Russia 24" and "My Planet." Also, the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 will be transmitted for the first time in HD quality.
